Presto epoxy resin is a two-component, solvent-free, liquid and slightly transparent repair, coating and laminating resin.

Areas of use:

  • for repairing, bonding and coating porous and smooth surfaces
  • as an impregnating resin for fiberglass-reinforced coatings and molded parts
  • as a cast mass for transmissions and other hollow spaces
  • for the creation of waterproof coatings, e.g., watertight coatings for gutters, pipes and tanks
  • for the creation of particularly firm and lightweight fiberglass molded parts: in association with a fiber reinforcement, suitable for coatings and covers in the automotive, appliance and model making fields.
  • all woodworking
  • concrete flooring
  • repair of boats, vehicles and other castings

Application :

  • Precisely measure components A and B (resin and hardener) and mix them thoroughly (A/B ratio of 60/100 by weight). The yellowish mixture is now ready for application.
  • Apply to the surface to be touched up using a brush, roller or spatula.
  • The open time for application is approximately 30 minutes for temperatures between 18 and 25°C.
  • In most cases, the application is carried out in two layers to obtain a sufficient thickness of between 300 and 400 µm.
  • The second application can be carried out within 24 hours as long as the surface remains sticky.
  • Final hardness and resistance to heat and chemicals are achieved after 5 days (at 20°C).
  • Do not put any leftover mixed material back into the packaging!

  • Increased chemical resistance and hardness are achieved after exposure to a temperature of 50°C for more than 24 hours.
  • To bind and create an epoxy mortar, the material is mixed in a weight proportion of 1 to 7 (volume proportion of approximately 1 to 3) with quartz sand or quartz powder.
  • For lamination, the amount of resin required corresponds to three times the weight of the fiberglass for the use of a fiberglass mat and to the weight of the fiberglass for fiberglass-based textiles.

Quality and characteristics

  • The resin hardens on the surface exposed to the open air without sticking.
  • High resistance, very high adhesion
  • Highly water-resistant, absorbs very little water
  • Reduced shrinkage due to hardening
  • Solvent-free, therefore minimal unpleasant odors
  • Resistant to weak acids, weak bases, inorganic salt solutions, gasoline and petroleum, greases and oils
  • Application also at relatively low temperatures (min. 10°C)
