Sikkens Cetol Novatech

High-solids, low-solvent wood stain based on "high solid" resins, satin gloss finish, for exterior building components

Use:
For the economic and ecological protection and creation of wood and woodwork in the outdoor sector. Application is carried out on woodwork without dimensional stability (e.g., chalets, formwork, timber framing, pergolas, etc.).

Properties:
For Novatech, "high solids" resin technology means a high solids content (approx. 68% by weight) and a low volatile organic solvent content. This results in such high dry film thicknesses that two coats of Cetol Novatech are equivalent to three coats of a conventional thin-film stain system. Strong UV protection, long-lasting weather resistance, and optimal moisture-regulating properties ensure the long-lasting protective effect of Cetol Novatech coatings.

Using just two coats on bare wood and only one coat for renovation, Cetol Novatech restores a fresh, vibrant appearance, even to highly exposed exterior woodwork—a result that would normally require several coats. This High Solid glaze is therefore very economical, saving both time and materials.

Cetol Novatech High Solids Glaze, based on high-solids resins, is a two-coat system that provides the same high weather resistance and surface protection as a conventional three-coat system. The highly transparent glaze protects against the elements and enhances the wood grain with depth and clarity. Cetol Novatech thus gives the wood the same expressive power as traditional thin-coat glazes – but with one less coat. This saves both time and materials. The high coverage of the High Solids Glaze also has a positive effect on application.

This satin glaze is suitable for exterior elements with limited or no dimensional stability, as well as for the intermediate and topcoats of dimensionally stable exterior elements. Its extended open time allows for seamless application, even at high temperatures. This glaze is therefore ideal for summer, the peak season for glazing.
